U.S. Air Force Eagle Eyes Program - why it's important

A few weeks ago my office counterpart and I were discussing potential topics for an upcoming public service message to Team Hill and it dawned on us that although we instruct personnel to report suspicious activity as part of the Eagle Eyes Program, we have never fully explained why it so important they do so. Most of you know that each report is immediately investigated by Security Forces and/or the Air Force Office of Special Investigation to rule out any immediate threat to the installation, but fewer know what happens to the report after this initial response.

The holiday season has always been a wondrous time of year for my family and me. Like many of you, my family and I celebrate by traveling to share the company of loving relatives and friends, attending tree lighting ceremonies and other seasonal venues, and counting the many blessings bestowed upon us as Americans. Unfortunately, even with all the wonderment of the holiday season, I am painfully aware that terrorist groups and those who espouse their radical ideology remain intent on conducting attacks in order to capitalize on the cultural significance attached to this time of year.



Catching terrorists needs everyone to be involved

The U.S. achieved one goal recently by killing Osama bin Laden, but the terrorists haven't surrendered. Antiterrorism processes need your help. Nobody knows your home, work place and driving routes better than you do. No matter how well trained and vigilant law enforcement and counterterrorism personnel are, they simply cannot be everywhere, at all times.
