In conjunction with Davis County, the 75th Medical Support Squadron will host the third annual Medication Take Back Event at the Base Exchange and Commissary from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on April 28. Unused over-the-counter pharmaceuticals and prescription medications can be brought to those locations in order to facilitate their safe disposal.
It's helpful, but not necessary, that medications are in their original containers. All medications are destroyed through incineration.
On Dec. 17, the 75th Medical Support Squadron volunteered at the George E. Wahlen Veterans Home in Ogden by participating in its weekly bingo game.
Squadron members set up the room, escorted the participants to their seats and helped them with their boards. All 25 volunteers, including the retirees and extended family members, were impacted by the personal stories that were told that day and were honored they had the opportunity to visit with veterans of previous wars, including World War II.
It was commonly agreed that the afternoon went by too quickly.

The 75th Medical Support Squadron; the 75th Security Forces Squadron; Paul Ashcraft, the Wingman Advocate for the 75th Air Base Wing; and the Drug Enforcement Agency are joining forces once again to provide Hill families a means for safe disposal of unused presecription medications.
During the first Medication Take Back Event in April 2011, 82 pounds of drugs were disposed of which added up to about 850 prescriptions.
The 75th Medical Support Squadron, the 75th Security Forces Squadron, 75th Air Base Wing Wingman Advocate Paul Ashcraft and the Drug Enforcement Agency joined forces to provide Utah families a means for safe disposal of unwanted, unused prescription medications at the commissary on April 30.
"Utah families disposed of 82 pounds of drugs, which is about 850 prescriptions' worth," said Capt. Boulier, 75th MDSS pharmacist.
A total of 996 pounds was collected in Davis County including Hill Air Force Base.
