Lt. Col. (Ret.) James Harvey, Tuskegee Airman, winner of the first ever "William Tell" competition and retired distribution service manager for Oscar Meyer will speak at the Hill Aerospace Museum on Feb. 2.
The talk will help kick off events for the African American History Month at Hill Air Force Base and is a joint venture with the Hill Aerospace Museum.
“I am honored to be (chosen as) the guest speaker for this year’s celebration,” said Carolyn Smith, Ogden Air Logistics Center Scientist and Engineer Workforce Development Branch chief. “It’s a great opportunity to pay tribute to one of this nation’s greatest heroes.
During the month of February we celebrate, as a nation, African American History Month. There are many great leaders, activists and educators associated with African American history, but out of them all Martin Luther King Jr. is perhaps the most well known, and for good reason.
