Bake up some good cheer with annual cookie drive

It’s not too soon to be getting into the spirit of giving with the Team Hill Cookie Drive set to spread the good cheer of delicious, home baked cookies on Dec. 5.
Volunteers are needed to drop off already baked cookies at the Airman and Family Readiness Center, Building 150, and others to bake cookies that day at the base as an opportunity to participate in the spirit of camaraderie and service.

FTAC presentation gives basics on financial health

Colette Geiss and Lorrie Perkins, Airman and Family Readiness Center staff, presented information to First Term Airmen in FTAC on July 29 that anyone might find useful.

The room full of Airmen learned about basic spending plans, otherwise popularly referred to as budgets, and other useful information on how to obtain a good credit rating, how to check your credit report, and why a good credit score is important.

Military Spouse Appreciation and Photo Contest May 11

The Airman and Family Readiness Center (A&FRC) is sponsoring a photo contest in recognition of Military Spouse Appreciation Day on May 11. The theme is "A day in the life of a military spouse."

Spouses from all branches of service can participate by submitting a contest entry form and a digital photo depicting any aspect of their life as a military spouse. Contestants must include the completed entry form with their photo submission. Entry forms are available at the A&FRC office in Building 150 or can be requested via email at stephanie.green@hil.af.mil.



Hearts Apart holds Christmas party for families of military deployed

As families of deployed military service members filed into MacCool's Restaurant for a Hearts Apart holiday party, children picked out board games, Santa got a lot of requests and a everyone feasted on a buffet of roasted turkey, ham and macaroni and cheese (much to the children's delight), cookies and other holiday fare.

Alesha Biesiada said her daughter had a wonderful time. "It was wonderful and so relaxing. The party was one of the best we've been to," said the military spouse.



Recreational needs for all abilities and skill levels at family picnic

Snowbasin Adaptive will be on hand to demonstrate recreational opportunities for anyone interested in skiing equipment that makes skiing more accessible at an event scheduled for July 30 from noon to 4 p.m. at Centennial Park. There will be several other service providers offering hands-on recreational displays and demonstrations.



Transition from military to work force presentation

The Airman and Family Readiness Center is sponsoring a once-a-year lecture regarding transition. It will be presented by the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA), and is entitled "Marketing Yourself for a Second Career," June 13, 8 a.m.-10:30 a.m. at the Airman and Family Readiness Center, Building 150.



Appreciation night for all military spouses

The Airman and Family Readiness Center is holding a Military Spouse Appreciation Day on Friday, May 6, in Building 150 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. This open house will have a light lunch available and door prizes to be given out every 30 minutes. Children are also welcome. There is no need to RSVP, just stop by between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. and let the staff show our military spouses how much they are appreciated for their sacrifices.



A&FRC reduces services Wednesdays
