Families with special needs picnic June 2
Summer. Sure makes us think of picnics, barbecues, bicycling and parks. Well, on Saturday, June 2, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. you can experience all that and more at Hill Air Force Base's Centennial Park during the Walk, Run, Ride Exploring Family Fun event for families with special needs. This will be the third annual summer picnic for families with special needs on the base. Last year's event brought approximately 200 participants, a train ride, great food, friends and bouncy castles.
Reflection, gratitude befit Memorial Day
WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio -- As I prepare to retire, I once again find myself reflecting on what it means to serve. Foremost in my thoughts are those who have risked their lives to preserve freedom and democracy. Even as we are hosting barbecues this weekend, or just enjoying extra time with our families, brave men and women are demonstrating their commitment to the United States and our way of life as they engage in military operations far from home.
