Team Hill's Junior Force Council hosted a member of the Air Force's Senior Executive Service last week for an hourlong lunch at the Landing (formerly known as Club Hill).
Debra Tune, principal deputy assistant secretary of the Air Force for Installations, Environment and Logistics, stopped in to dine and talk with the group of about 30 JFC members. Tune asked everyone to introduce themselves and spoke briefly about issues facing the civiliam work force, emphasizing also the importance of mentoring.
Hill Air Force Base leaders are focusing on the strengths of many of its components to help build the future as budget needs are under consideration.
The Team Hill Junior Force Council hosted its 2011 Speaker Series at the Base Theater on April 27.
Darrin Wray, Falcon Hill's Enhanced Use Lease Program Manager, was the keynote speaker and provided valuable information on Falcon Hill.
"In 2001 Congress provided authority for the Department of Defense to take un-utilized property and lease it out to a developer in exchange for some type of return," said Wray. "Falcon Hill will be approximately 550 acres on the western edge of Hill Air Force Base, and the master development agreement was signed in Aug. 2008."
