Do you know this about energy use?
American industry uses 32 percent of the national electricity production, with commercial buildings using an additional 18 percent. Here at Hill Air Force Base, the utility bill is around $22 million dollars a year. Not all of that energy goes to the mission; some is due to waste.
The good news is that the Department of Defense is committed to energy conservation. All new buildings and retrofits must be able meet United States Green Building Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver rating.
