Running in the name of education

As a chilly breeze swept through the air and the sun was beginning to rise, more than 40 Airmen gathered outside the Warrior Fitness Center to run and brave the winds on April 30 — all in the name of education.

The run — a 5-K (3.1-mile) run around the base’s duck pond trail; the purpose — promoting the importance of education.

"These organized runs are meant to motivate and market the educational campaigns," explained Master Sgt.

Speed Mentor Awards

Senior Airman John NIckel, Airman 1st Class Jens Hanson, Staff Sgt. Amanda Gilbert and Master Sgt. Chi Swanson were among the winners at the speed mentoring event receiving awards from Park University. Park awarded three $75 gift cards and a $50 book scholarship to show its appreciation to the military.
