Fred and Barbara Adams thought a festival begun 50 years ago in Cedar City, Utah, with folding chairs for the audience and local and university student actors presenting Shakespeare would succeed, but as Fred puts it, "I never thought I would live to be a part of the fiftieth celebration."

The Utah Shakespeare Festival awarded a Tony for regional theater is celebrating the achievement with three of its most popular productions: "Richard the III," "Midsummer Night's Dream" and "Romeo and Juliet."
