75th ABW celebrates annual award winners

HILL AIR FORCE BASE — The 75th Air Base Wing celebrated its top performers of 2014 during an awards ceremony Feb. 7 at The Landing. Top performers in several categories were honored during a “statuesque” event that included Hollywood-like red carpet treatment.

“I am the luckiest wing commander in the Air Force because of the Airmen we have in the 75th Air Base Wing,” said Col. Ron Jolly, 75th ABW commander. “The Airmen here see the big picture and know that it is not all about the wing, but about providing support to Team Hill. It makes my job easier and I do appreciate it.”

Nearly 200 guests attended the annual event, which included valet parking, interviews on the “red carpet,” hors d’ouevres during social hour, a string quartet and dancing.

A number of well-known local civic leaders and special guests presented the awards.

“We really wanted our award nominees to feel like celebrities for the night,” said Tech. Sgt. Patrick Gallagher, 75th ABW Command Chief executive assistant and event committee co-chairman.

“It turned out to be a wonderful event,” Gallagher said. “We couldn’t have done it without the dedicated event committee who helped organize the event.”
