Tony Angelico, director of the Hill AFB Hubbard Golf Course is honored as he reflects on the proud history of awards and accolades the course has consistently received. In March, Hubbard was named as the most outstanding golf program out of the entire Air Force, competing with 66 bases. This is the second time the Hubbard Golf Course has received this award; they first received it in 2009.

Hubbard has received many accolades over the years. In 2011 they were recognized as the Air Force Golf Program of the year. According to Angelico, "What sets us apart is the condition of our golf course. Our maintenance department, led by Superintendent Travis Wilson, does a magnificent job maintaining the turf grass in pristine conditions. Hubbard's greens, tees and fairways are truly immaculate. They are some of the best in the entire state of Utah."

Angelico explained the competition and awards processes: "Each course who believes they are able to compete with the best submits an application for consideration. The Air Force consists of several major commands, seven or eight, and each command chooses a winner. The command winners go on to compete for the Air Force level award. We have won the command award four years in a row and now we've been recognized as the Air Force winner two out of the last three years."

According to Angelico, the facilities receive rankings on customer loyalty and recently received national recognition from the National Golf Foundation (NGF) as the runner up facility out of all those surveyed, for their customer approval ratings. "We feel honored to be recognized by an industry leader like the National Golf Foundation," said Angelico.
