Patience requested during gate closures

Patience requested during gate closures

As publicized, the South Gate is closed through Oct. 5 for the installation of speed tables.

“I am aware of the traffic caused by the closure, and my team and I are doing all we can to help alleviate those delays,” said Col. Ronald Jolly, 75th Air Base Wing commander.

Colonel Jolly said the base has reached out to the Utah Department of Transportation and local authorities and requested they adjust the timing of traffic lights outside the installation to better assist people in getting on and off base during peak traffic hours from 5-7:30 a.m. and 2:30-5 p.m.

“During peak hours, we encourage the use of the East and Roy Gates to help ease traffic congestion at the Southwest and West Gates as much as possible,” he said. “We highly encourage staggering work shifts if possible to help mitigate delays.

“ We recognize this is an inconvenience for everyone and please know this project will improve base security and allow us to more efficiently move traffic on and off the installation upon completion,” he added. “I appreciate everyone’s continued patience during this construction.”

Wardleigh Road Lane Restrictions, C Avenue Road Closure

Lane restrictions on Wardleigh Road and the closure of C Avenue South of Bldg. 15 will occur from Sept. 29 through Oct. 14. The 75th Civil Engineer Group has contracted a utilities project that requires the contractor to trench along Wardleigh Road to install four new communications conduits in the north lane of Wardleigh Road south of Bldg. 15. On or about Sept. 29, the north lane of Wardleigh Road south of Bldg. 15 will be closed to trench between two existing communication manholes to install the new conduits. The trench will cut across C Avenue, which will need to be closed for the contruction.

One lane of traffic going west on Wardleigh Road will be maintained at all times. Motorists that use C Avenue will need to use Southgate Drive , located east of Bldg. 5, to gain access to and egress from their working areas.

Access from Wardleigh Road into parking lot 6, located on the west side of Bldg. 15, will be closed during this time. The exit from parking lot 6 onto Wardleigh Road will remain open. Nurse Advice Line offers health care guidance

BETHESDA, Md. — TRICARE beneficiaries in the continental U.S., Alaska and Hawaii can now access the Nurse Advice Line to receive health care guidance and advice.

The Nurse Advice Line is manned by a team of registered nurses — available 24/7 — prepared to answer questions about a variety of acute health care concerns. A nurse will help beneficiaries decide whether self-care or seeing a health care provider is the better option, officials said.

Beneficiaries are routed to the appropriate nurse, who will follow up when necessary or requested. Same-day appointments with a primary care manager are available for TRICARE Prime beneficiaries who are enrolled at military treatment facilities.

If a same-day appointment is not available, the Nurse Help Line will redirect the beneficiary to the closest urgent care center without any point-of-service copayment, officials said.

The Nurse Advice Line is available to TRICARE beneficiaries using TRICARE Prime, TRICARE Prime Remote, TRICARE Prime Remote for active-duty family members, TRICARE Standard and TRICARE Extra, TRICARE Reserve Select, TRICARE Retired Reserve, TRICARE Young Adult and TRICARE For Life.

To contact the Nurse Advice Line, call 1-800-TRICARE (1-800-874-2273) and select Option 1 for help with urgent care questions and needs.
