Gen. Janet Wolfenbarger, commander of Air Force Materiel Command, will preside at the July 12 redesignation ceremony that will establish the Ogden Air Logistics Complex at Hill AFB.
The 10 a.m. ceremony will be held in Hangar 204 near the base flightline.
No parking is available near the hangar, so shuttle buses will transport attendees from The Landing and from the parking lot at the corner of Georgia Street and Wardleigh Road, starting at 9 a.m.
Other ceremony participants are Lt. Gen.-select Bruce Litchfield, who will assume command of the Air Force Sustainment Center at Tinker AFB, Okla., on July 10; Lt. Gen.-select Andrew Busch, Ogden Air Logistics Center commander, who will depart from Hill AFB to serve as AFMC vice commander; Maj. Gen.-select H. Brent Baker Sr., who will assume command of the Complex; and Col. Alan Day, commander of the 309th Maintenance Wing, departing to serve as the AFSC vice commander.
Events will include:
SBltâÇInactivating the 309th Maintenance Wing and furling its guidon.
SBltâÇRelinquishing command of the Ogden Air Logistics Center and furling its flag.
SBltâÇRedesignation as the Ogden Air Logistics Complex, and unfurling its flag.
A reception to greet Baker will be held at The Landing following the ceremony.
The redesignation ceremony is part of the 5-Center construct, designed to save tax dollars and increase efficiency. The Air Force Sustainment Center will be activated at Tinker on July 10, and the Warner Robins Air Logistics Complex will transition on July 17.
The other centers in the AFMC construct are the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio; the Air Force Test Center at Edwards AFB, Calif.; the Air Force Research Laboratory at Wright-Patterson; and the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center at Kirtland AFB, N.M.
