The 75th annual Ogden Pioneer Days is just around the corner. This year the event will take place July 19-24 at the historic Ogden Pioneer Stadium.
The annual celebration which includes a parade, rodeo, fireworks and much more, draws in more than 30,000 people and is one of the 20 best Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association rodeos out of more than 700 nationwide.
"It's excellent the way the community celebrates its heritage and includes the base as part of that," said George Jozens, 75th Air Base Wing Public Affairs director. "There's not anywhere else I've been that you can see such beautifully painted horses on every corner and then follow those displays up with a great rodeo."

Ogden Pioneer Days was first celebrated in 1934 when Harman W. Peery, Ogden City mayor at the time, organized a western festival to boost the spirits of the locals. Mayor Peery wanted the event to become a national attraction that would continue for years and years to come. This year marks the 75th anniversary of the celebration.
