RANDOLPH AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- As part of a continuing Air Force initiative to provide on-site civilian personnel recruitment support, the Air Force Personnel Center will stand up an operating location at Hill Air Force Base on Tuesday, Feb. 1. This is the third of five AFPC OLs to support commanders and missions at the Air Force Large Civilian Centers.

"AFPC will continue to work jointly with AFMC, Ogden Air Logistics Center, and Hill Air Force Base on the transition of civilian personnel staffing workload to the OL. The OL will report to AFPC leadership while meeting the mission requirements of Hill AFB," said Michelle LoweSolis, director, Civilian Force Integration, Air Force Personnel Center.

In addition to the Hill OL, the first AFPC operating location was activated at Tinker AFB, Okla., April 1, and the Air Force District of Washington OL stood up July 1. AFPC will activate additional OLs at Robins AFB, Ga., May 1 and Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio, July 1.

"With a supported AFPC presence at the LCCs, AFPC will have first-hand knowledge of trends and mission requirements to ensure success in civilian staffing at Hill Air Force Base and the other LCCs," said Maj. Gen. A. J. Stewart, AFPC commander. "Our expectation is no degradation in the civilian hiring process and to relentlessly strengthen our Air Force for the challenges ahead."

The Hill OL will support more than 13,000 Air Force civilians at Hill AFB, as well as Air Force Materiel Command civilians assigned to tenant organizations at Kirtland AFB, N.M., and Edwards AFB, Calif.

Many Hill AFB staff members will transition to the OL. Because they understand the processes and missions, and have the full reach-back capability to AFPC for support and assistance, their transition will further enhance civilian personnel process effectiveness.

Once established, the OL team will produce job referral lists, extend job offers, in-process new civilian employees, and provide staffing advice to managers, among other functions.
