Golf clinic cancelled, tourney starts at noon

The clinic scheduled for the Commander's Cup Golf Tournament on Tuesday, July 26, has been cancelled. Registration will begin at 11 a.m. in the upper level of the Hubbard Golf Course clubhouse and the shotgun start begins at noon.



Afterburner Bike Rally on July 21

July 21, 2011

Club Hill will host an Afterburner BIke Rally on Thursday, July 21, 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The $20 registration fee includes: poker run, barbecue, music, bike show, prizes and vendor booths.

Easy Street will provide live music. Motorcycle distributors will be on hand to show the latest in bikes and bike equipment. The barbecue will feature brisket, chicken sausage and coleslaw.

The event begins at 3 p.m. as motorcyclists gather for the bike show that will take place between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. Then it's off on the Poker Run that will circle the base, stopping at several locations to collect cards.

The barbecue is at 6 p.m. followed by bike show awards and the drawing for the Tim McGraw concert tickets at 7:30 p.m.

Our Nation's Defender's Picnic

July 21, 2011

On July 29, all active duty, Reserve and Guard military members and their families are invited to a picnic at Centennial Park with barbecue served from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and activities continuing for one more hour.

All families need to RSVp through their first sergeants by Monday, July 25.

There will be live music, horseshoes, volleyball and inflatibles for the kids to play on.

Gastronomy Inc. is providing gourmet picnic foods and local and state elected officials will be present.

Appoximately 1,700 were served last year and organizers believe the count will be much higher this year.

So get your reservations in so you and your family can participate and enjoy the activities.



Warrior Call to hold talk on EOD, July 22

July 14, 2011

Warrior Call on July 22 will be at 4 p.m. at Club Hill. Featured speakers will be Master Sgt. Ken Ahrens and Staff Sgt. Keith Green, both of 75th CEG/CED, and they will speak on the topic of "Air Force Explosive Ordnance Disposal and the Joint Fight."

All interested civilians and military are invited to attend.



Aerospace Museum to close for spraying

July 14, 2011

The Hill Aerospace Museum will close to the public Monday, July 18, at noon, until the morning of July 19 due to spraying for weeds under the aircraft and on the grounds.



'F' Street to close for waterline project

July 14, 2011

A construction project in support of the new SFS/OSI Building 408 will close "F" Street south of Wardleigh Road, July 25 at 7 a.m. until July 29 at 5 p.m.

This will be a full road closure due to the digging across "F" Street in two sections.

Milling and paving project on Wardleigh

July 14, 2011

A complete paving and milling project for Wardleigh Road from Southgate Avenue to Chenault Road continues through July 29.

Wardleigh will be partially closed for extensive milling during this time. Traffic will be reduced to one lane each way.

Recommended alternate route is 6th Street to access most buildings and parking lots.

Bldg. 414 lot closes for sewer line install

July 14, 2011

The driveway to the north of Building 414 will be closed to install sewer line for the Security Forces Building on Thursday, July 14, through Friday, July 15. Access to Building 414 will be available through Parking Lot 1.

The parking will be restricted in Building 414 July 20-22 while sewer line is installed. Additional parking is available across the street or in Parking Lot 1.

Bldg. 402 lot closes for construction

July 14, 2011

A driveway to the parking lot of Building 402 will be closed from "F" Street at 7 a.m., Monday, July 18, and will remain closed until 5 p.m. the following day while communication lines are run for the new security forces building.

Parking will also be restricted in Lot 6 from Friday, July 15, through Aug. 6, while communication lines for the new security forces building are installed. Additional parking is available across the street in Lot 1.
