South Gate lane restrictions

August 30, 2012

There will be gate restrictions for both in-bound and out-bound lanes at the South Gate for three days Sept. 14-17 or if weather does not permit, Sept. 21-24. Construction will be complete no later than the third day at 4 a.m., Sept. 17, or in the case of delayed start, Sept. 24.

Civil Engineering will be replacing concrete barriers, resurfacing and striping both in-bound and out-bound traffic lanes, to include the intersection of Southgate Drive and Balmer Street. Work will be done during low volume traffic periods to minimize interruption to motorist and allow access to base facilities.

Personnel entering the base are asked to be patient as delays can be expected with multiple lane changes. Drivers are ask to use extreme caution and remain vigilant. Please yield the right-of-way to construction equipment and follow instructions from traffic control and security police.



649th Munition Squadron inventory

The 649th Munition Squadron will be conducting 100 percent inventories of the Base (FV2027), Test (FV2171), and STAMP (FV2304) stockpiles from Sept. 3 through Sept. 28.

During the inventories, the only transactions that will be supported are emergency requests approved in writing by the group commander or equivalent. Please direct any questions to Staff Sgt. 388th EMS Munitions Inventory announced

August 16, 2012

In accordance with AFI 21-201 an inventory of all munitions on the base stock record for the 388th Fighter Wing will occur Sept. 4-30. This inventory will not affect the daily flying schedule for the base. Munitions customers will not be issued munitions or be able to turn in munitions during this closed warehouse inventory. Emergency issues will be available if it meets all the requirements in Air Force Instruction 21-201 paragraph 7.13.2.3.

This inventory will not affect munitions already issued to a munitions account. It will also not affect assets courtesy stored within the munitions storage area.

650 North on-ramp to close June 15-18

June 7, 2012

Motorists are advised that the I-15 on-ramp at 650 North is tentatively scheduled to close from June 15 at 8 p.m. to June 18 at 6 a.m. as crews re-pave this section of the roadway.



5K Fun Run for Year of Continuing Education

Come out and support “The Year of Continuing Education.” 

The committee will be hosting a 5K walk/run Friday, June 8, at 7 a.m. in front of the Warrior Center. 

This could easily be a unit PT event as there is no registration fee to participate.



Tops in Blue to visit area June 23

June 7, 2012

Tops in Blue 2012 World Tour will make a stop in Ogden at the Peery Egyptian Egyptian Theater, June 23. Tops in Blue is an all active-duty Air Force unit of amateur entertainers. The concert is free and it is open to the public. Seating is limited.



Summer Camp for rising 6th graders

June 7, 2012

A free summer camp will be available for all Hill Air Force Base rising 6th grade students not attending one of the following schools: Antelope, Adelaide, Bluff Ridge, Crestview, Doxey, Foxboro, Fremont, Hill Field, Holt, King, Layton, Lincoln, Meadowbrook, South Clearfield, Sunset, Syracuse, Vae View, Wasatch, Washington or Whitesides. This camp is also not available to anyone whose family is changing their permanent station. 

The camp will be June 25-28, 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in Building 460. 

Starbase Hill is a national science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) program. The curriculum is based on physics, chemistry, technology and robotics, and engineering. For more information call 801-586-7493.
